Regular attendance and punctuality are encouraged because absenteeism and tardiness can affect the child's adjustment to schoool. In addition, the child misses important parts of the school day.
Please dress your child in comfortable, washable play-clothes including closed toed shoes. It is important that the child be able to dress him/herself. Also, a sweater or lightweight jacket is often necessary because of rapid changes in climate. Extra clothing, contained in re-closable plastic bags, marked with the child's name, should be left at school. Clothing items should include a complete change of clothes (socks, underpants, and outer garments).
Nap-time will also require a crib-size sheet and light blanket for resting, along with nap-time items (favorite blankets, toys, etc.). Sheets and blankets should be laundered each weekend and returned to school on Monday.
If your child is not yet potty trained, you will need to maintain a supply of diapers and wipes at school.
We serve a midmorning and midafternoon snack. Menus are posted in the kitchen. Parents must provide a lunch each day for their child (unless otherwise notified). Parents are encouraged not to include sugary items in lunches, as these make it very difficult for a child to nap.
A special birthday snack can be celebrated with your child's class during snack time. We encourage a healthy birthday snack. Please let your child's teacher know if you wish to bring a birthday snack. Please check with your child's teacher about allergy restrictions in the class. Please do not pass out party invitation at school unless the entire class is invited.
